Single Splendour Stroke by Motoya Kondo

Much like the silence and simplicity found in a masterpiece of a Japanese tea bowl, this workshop delves into the profound impact of a singular stroke, offering a lens to perceive the vast universe within a single moment. In contrast to intricate designs that may obscure underlying essences, we shift our focus to explore the richness encapsulated in one magnificent stroke—a movement that extends into boundless space, guiding us to uncover the stillness within motion. By delving into the primal depths of existence, beyond emotional expressions, this workshop navigates the space behind bodily and mental movements, inviting the wind to dance freely in the expansive sky. Participants will engage in various activities, including preparing the body as an objective object, exploring external and contemplative anatomy, understanding basic movement principles, connecting breath and body, experimenting with different textures of movement, deconstructing the concept of time, and rediscovering silent spaces amidst dynamic motions. Join us in this transformative exploration of the ground of existence and the eloquence found in simplicity.
