AATH Performance “First Call”

Friday 24 October - 07:30 PM | Friday 24 October - 09:00 PM

Acosta Advanced Training Hub Performance:

First Call

The Acosta Advanced Training Hub (AATH) proudly presents a triple bill featuring its exceptional dancers from the AATH +16 and AATH +18 groups. This performance showcases a dynamic fusion of modern and classical dance, highlighting the versatility, skill, and artistry of our students.

1. “Constellation” – Choreographed by Cameron McMillan
Music by Loscil and Nils Frahm

Constellation is a striking contemporary work that examines the intricate web of human connection. Drawing inspiration from the shifting patterns of stars in the night sky, the piece explores how individual identities, histories, and bodies intersect and influence one another. Highly physical and dynamic, the choreography traces the invisible points of connection between people, revealing the profound relationships and ideas that emerge from these intersections.

2. New Classical Creation – “In Line” Choreographed by Ludovic Ondiviela

Our second work presents a fresh classical creation by Artistic Lead Ludovic Ondiviela. This piece offers a semi-narrative exploration of pre-professional dancers preparing for auditions, embracing the challenge and discipline of classical ballet. Through rigorous technique and expressive storytelling, the work captures the dedication, ambition, and artistry of dancers poised to enter the professional stage.

3. Waltz from The Nutcracker

AATH dancers perform the Waltz from Carlos Acosta’s acclaimed 2024 adaptation of The Nutcracker. This reimagined take on the beloved classic offers a rare opportunity to experience the artistry and legacy of the Acosta Dance Foundation’s Founder. The piece combines technical precision with rich musicality, challenging dancers to embody elegance, charm, and virtuosity while honoring one of ballet’s most iconic repertoires.

Together, these three works create a compelling evening of dance, demonstrating the breadth and depth of training, artistry, and expression nurtured within the Acosta Advanced Training Hub. Audiences are invited to experience a journey through contemporary innovation, classical rigor, and the enduring legacy of Carlos Acosta’s vision.
