Tres Caminos | One Stage brings three powerful dance worlds together in one evening, Afro-Cuban heritage, contemporary expression, and classical virtuosity. The programme journeys through Mareas, a fusion of Afro-Cuban folklore and contemporary movement inspired by water, memory, and renewal; Festo, a dynamic contemporary work exploring celebration, contrast, and resilience; and excerpts from Carlos Acosta’s Don Quixote, bursting with Spanish colour, theatrical flair, and classical brilliance.
MAREAS, creation of Luanda Pau and Estela Merlos. Inspired by Yemayá, this work fuses Afro-Cuban and contemporary movement, blending grounded rhythms, fluid motion, and flamenco-inspired accents in a cyclical exploration of water, ancestry, and renewal. The performance unfolds with reverence, offering a profound experience where ritual, art, and cosmology meet, evoking beauty and deep connections to heritage
FESTO, Rigo Saura’s creation, winner of the 2025 Carlos Acosta Choreographic Fellowship. Festo works as an expressive strategy where celebration holds contradiction, agreement and disagreement, distance and closeness, exhaustion and energy. Rather than escaping difficulty, it becomes a way of finding the impulse to keep going. Festo brings together elements of Surrealism, Baroque excess, and cultural authenticity, shaped by people living in contexts of limited choice. In this process, it expands not only their physical surroundings, but also their inner landscape.
DON QUIXOTE (Excerpts), based on Carlos Acosta’s reimagined choreography, Staged by Aydmara Cabrera & Ludovic Ondiviela. Based on Carlos Acosta’s reimagined choreography of Don Quixote, these excerpts feature scenes from the Market Place, the Toreadores, the Dream, and Kitri and Basilio’s Wedding, showcasing the colour, vitality, and heritage of the ballet.
