Sunday 19 July - 11:00 AM | Sunday 19 July - 04:00 PM
The workshop invites participants to cultivate a deeper quality of attention, exploring listening as an embodied practice that reconnects us with ourselves, one another, and our environment. Through guided improvisation, participants will investigate how we respond to sound in different contexts-from the intuitive listening that emerges during movement improvisation to the shared rhythms and social interactions found in communal gatherings and dance.
Working with body weight, rhythm, timing, and dynamic movement, we will explore how vibration travels through the body and how the nervous system perceives and responds to sound. Using music from Latin America as a source of inspiration, participants will experiment with movement, voice, and musical improvisation, discovering how sound can shape perception, awaken the senses, and encourage creative expression.
The workshop concludes with a collective gathering in which movement and music become a shared experience. Through curiosity, play, and attentive listening, participants will discover how movement and sound can deepen awareness, strengthen human connection, and cultivate a greater sense of belonging within themselves, the group, and the wider environment.
