A vibrant exploration of Mexican folk dance: Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Mexican culture through engaging workshops.

Learn from renowned instructors. Master new techniques and deepen your understanding of the art form with leading experts. Connect with a passionate community. Share your love for Mexican dance with fellow enthusiasts and create lasting memories while uncovering the cultural significance and fascinating history and meaning behind each dance style.

The instructors:

Diana Farías A renowned expert in folkloric dance and the Director of the prestigious Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey (ESMDM), Diana will guide you through an immersive exploration of Mexican dance traditions.

Ana Herrera and Germán Muñoz, the dynamic duo behind This is Mexico!, will share their passion for Mexican folk dance. Based in London, they’ve dedicated themselves to preserving and promoting these vibrant traditions. With a strong international presence, they’ve performed across the globe and organized the first Encuentro Folklórico Mexicano, uniting Mexican folk dance groups from Europe.

Dr. Ismael Segura Cedillo & The Manchester Mexican Folk Group, this energetic group of dancers has been captivating audiences with their performances at prestigious venues like the Paul O’Grady Show and the British Museum. Their mission is to spread the joy of Mexican folk dance throughout Manchester, and they’ve certainly made their mark, even appearing on Britain’s Got Talent.

Friday, February 21st:

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: El Mesquiton (All Levels) – Diana Farias.

3:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Exploring the Regions of Sinaloa  (All Levels) – Ana Herrera & Germán Muñoz.

4:45 PM – 5:45 PM: Exploring the Regions and Jalisco (All levels) – Ana Herrera & Germán Muñoz.

5:30 PM – 6:00 PM: Practice and Socialization – ALL.

Saturday, February 22nd

2:00 PM – 3:30 PM: Polka from Chiguagua, part 1 – Ismael Segura.

3:45 PM – 4:45 PM: Polka from Chiguagua, part 2 – Ismael Segura.

4:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Son Jarocho Veracruz – Ismael Segura

5:30 PM – 6:00 PM: Practice and Socialization. ALL.
