This full-day workshop with Matteo Marfoglia begins with a morning improvisation class, drawing on Matteo’s experience leading mixed classes where dancers and non-dancers move together in the same space, and inspired by the Gaga tools he particularly resonates with. Across the rest of the day, Matteo will share a range of his own choreographic tools, giving participants the space to create their own movement and devise original material from his creative provocations. Participants will also explore how to connect with the outside world through observation and writing exercises, bringing these findings into the body as stimulus for movement. All of these tools will build towards a shared improvisational score at the close of the day, bringing everyone’s learning together in one collective space.
