About the Workshop

Get ready for a deep immersion into the authentic roots of Afro-Cuban dance with legendary artist Maestro Domingo Pau. This 3-hour intensive workshop offers a rare chance to explore two of Cuba’s most powerful and emblematic dance forms: Abakuá and Columbia.

Open to dancers of all levels, this experience is designed to enrich your knowledge, enhance your technique, and connect you with the cultural and historical roots of Afro-Cuban traditions.


What You Will Explore

🔹 Abakuá

Step into the mystical energy of the Afro-Cuban secret society through ritual movement, rhythm, and song. Traditionally practised by men, this form warmly welcomes all participants—women included—who are invited to engage through clapping, singing, and movement. Learn the symbolism, history, and spiritual power of this unique tradition.

🔹 Columbia

Discover the agility, improvisation, and grounded energy of Columbia, one of the most dynamic forms of Cuban rumba. Known for its challenging footwork and connection to the earth, Colombia celebrates strength, spontaneity, and freedom through rhythm and movement.
