About Denzil: Discover the world of ballet with Denzil Bailey, a seasoned dancer who embarked on his dance journey at the age of 17 in a vibrant Jazz class in Cricklewood. Encouraged by his mentor, he pursued his passion for ballet at the esteemed London School of Classical Dance, eventually earning a coveted spot in the globally renowned English National Ballet, where he graced stages worldwide for a remarkable decade. Following a period of freelancing and nurturing his son Jacob, Denzil's path converged with Cassa Pancho, a fellow dancer focused on addressing the underrepresentation of black classical dancers. Denzil played a pivotal role in establishing Ballet Black, an acclaimed institution that has thrived for over a decade. Along this extraordinary journey, Denzil inadvertently transitioned into the role of a ballet instructor, a role he fondly refers to as his "dream job." Today, Denzil's passion for dance shines through his high-energy open classes, held regularly across London. He also imparts his expertise to dance companies like Rambert, Random, Neo Ballet, Tavaziva, Skanes Danse, and, of course, Ballet Black.
