Afro-Cuban Dance Yoruba Tradition: Oshosi, Embodying the Deity

The opening workshop focuses on Afro-Cuban Dance within the Yoruba tradition, inviting participants to explore the embodied qualities of the Orishas (deities) through movement, rhythm, and storytelling. This session weaves together the programme’s three core themes, guiding the group toward a collective choreographic creation.  Participants will co-develop a short performance that reflects their shared journey, drawing on somatic awareness, personal memory, and creative autonomy while honouring the cultural roots of the practice.
