Soca dance is Trinidad and Tobago’s main social/popular dance form. It is usually performed to Soca and Kaiso Music, with Movements to Soca music often performed during the Carnival season in the Caribbean region or within Caribbean diasporic communities. This is a great class to get you ready for the Nottinghill Carnival, so join us and explore a kids class filled with energetic fun! About Breige Tahirah Wilson:
Breige is a dancer, dance and drama teacher, former pageant queen, actress, and singer from Trinidad and Tobago. She specialises in ballet, modern dance, contemporary, jazz, musical theatre and Caribbean folk/traditional/social dance forms (Trinidad and Tobago). She trained under the Les Enfants Dance Company, the Caribbean School of Dance and the Metamorphosis Dance Company (Trinidad). She was also an actress with the National Theatre Company of Trinidad and Tobago. Additionally, she has a BFA in Creative Arts (Dance and Theatre) from the University of the West Indies, Cavehill where she studied under Neri Torres (Cuba). She also has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Mediation Studies from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. She recently completed her Masters in Dance Knowledge, Heritage and Practice (Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Programme/Choreomundus)
